Fast becoming Ubud’s version of Paris' legendary Les Deux Magots, it is the place to be seen, where the minds, hearts and bellies of readers, writers, thinkers, hipsters and munchers alike are nourished. And if that’s not enough, Bar Luna’s trained baristas will serve you the best coffee on the island, the beverage of great conversation. Open 3pm – 11pm daily. Happy Hour nightly from 5-7 pm.

Bar Luna Lit Club

Every week, Bar Luna hosts talented writers and artists alongside some of the island's finest musicians, in what has become Bali's hippest literary salon and hot-bed of wild debates, readings, performance and meaningful conversation. From Booker-prize winners to celebrated poets, from dynamic singers to guitar-strumming geniuses, it’s all happening at Bar Luna.

April is month of awareness and young child. Join in our event programme; watch movies, shout poems, and dance lively! Watch our movies then stay on after to continue the discussion. Our exciting programme celebrates award winning foreign movie directors on Monday and Indonesian movie directors on Thursday.  

Monday, April 4 | 7.30 pm The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) Wes Anderson (1h39min) | Adventure, Comedy, Drama From a story of Anderson and Hugo Guinness (British writer and illustrator), inspired by Stefan Zweig’s writing (Austrian novelist, playwright and journalist) — bring us an adventure with Gustave H, a concierge at a famous hotel from the fictional Republic of Zubrowka who proves his innocence after being framed for murder. Superb eye for visual storytelling from a grownup storybook!  

Monday, April 18 | 7.30 pm Trashed (2012) Jeremy Irons (1h38min) | Documentary An award-winning documentary feature film by Blenheim Films with Jeremey Irons which was selected for Cannes where it had the premiere in 2012. As the one in the peak of food chain, human becomes unaware with trash cycle which involve them as the main role of what’s happening. “We buy it, we bury it, we burn it, and we ignore it.” Sets out to discover the extent and effects of the global waste problem, the film expect us to contribute to our own survival and well being of the planet.  

Thursday, April 14 | 7.30 pm SOCIAL TALK with Galuh Wandita at 7.30 pm One of the most impressive speakers of the 2015 Ubud Writers& Readers Festival,  Galuh Wandita has worked extensively on humanitarian issues in East Timor, going on to key appointments at the Timor-Leste truth commission, the International Centre for Transitional Justice, an NGO based in New York, and Asia Justice and Rights. She is now working on an action-research photo book about women and impunity in Asia. Join her at Bar Luna Basement in-conversation about her life and work.  

Thursday, April 28 | 7.30 pm Jalanan The Movie (2013) Daniel Ziv (1h48min) | Documentary | Special Feature! The movie portrayed the brutally, raw, and satirically humorous of the capital city brought by the three charismatic bus musicians in Jakarta. The soundtracks give power to the plot as many raw messages role to build the story. After won 6 Film Festival and have been in 6 Official Selection of Film Festival, we bring you Jalanan The Movie and bring someone to be specially featured!
